For the last 20+ years, I have been working on various projects to understand climate evolution and human impacts on the Arctic environment. These have included projects on Ellesmere Island, Greenland, Alaska and Svalbard.
Our most recent project investigates the relationship between ancient human migration and environmental change in Northern Greenland.

With this project we are seeking to understand the past. present, and future of water resources from the High Himalayas. We are coring lakes in NW, North and Central Nepal in order to understand the frequency and magnitude of precipitation extremes over the last 1000+ years.

In this NERC- and Swiss Polar Institute-funded project, we are generating Southern Hemisphere Westerlies (SHW) proxy records from each of the three major sectors of the Southern Ocean, focusing on subantarctic islands situated in the core belt of the SHW.
